Cultural Camp

Cultural Camp Presented by Shidaa Projects Inc.
Youngsters ages 8 and up will be immersed in Drumming, Dance, Storytelling, Fabric Printing, Tie & Dye and even helping prepare then sample an authentic West African dish.

This camp takes place Tuesday July 25 through Thursday July 27 from 8:15 am to 1:30 pm providing 3 days packed with fun activities.
The First Congregational Church of Berlin at 1808 Scott Hill Road in Berlin, VT is generously opening its space and grounds for us to host the camp.

Shidaa Projects’s Cultural Camp is sponsored by 802 Cars and the Montpelier Community Fund.

Workshops

We use arts, symbols, designs, instruments and artifacts to teach about the values of West African culture. Our workshops are resourceful means of introducing students and teachers to an unprecedented knowledge of rich African culture and traditions. Working in many middle and high schools in Vermont, New England, and throughout the Northeast, we always insist on incorporating appreciation for other cultures. Our workshops are run either directly for students or for teachers seeking authentic resources to enable them to better teach their students.
